I’ve mentioned it before, I’m usually not too blown away by the GO International Target collaborations. They always look great online but as soon as you touch it in person, it feels like it might disintegrate on spot.
But yesterday, I met with the Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus, Ken Downing, and he let me know that he had seen the Zac Posen for Target collection and that it was pretty fab. (More on that interview next week). And I’ll admit, I’m kind of excited to see it up close as it does look pretty freaking cute.
Here’s a sneek peek at the Zac Posen for Target Look Book, which should be out and available in stores this April! (Let’s just hope it feels as good as it looks, no flammable items please!)
I’ve never been one that’s too crazy for Banana Republic. But the new Banana Republic Concept Store at Scottsdale Fashion Square gave me a change of heart. With its beautiful baubles and its boutique-like feel, I felt it time to give BR a second chance.
Today, they’ve further redeemed themselves as the store has launched a new capsule collection, Luxe Leisure, of 40 pieces that includes tunics, swimwear and beach clothes that will be avail at warm weather (read: us) year-round.
The collection will be in stores mid-March and ranges from $30 to $110.
Who isn’t lusting after Lady Gaga’s huge peepers in her Bad Romance video? It’s creepy, yet totally cool. This tutorial below shows you how to get the look. You’ll need plenty of false lashes and some special contacts.
Seriously, who doesn’t want a free haircut these days? Especially in this economy when it comes to things like our hair, we can’t really afford to take risks…literally.
That’s exactly the same philosphy Elysian Salon & Spa has, which is why they’re offering free haircuts and mini facials the first week of February for new customers. Just in time to get prettified for that Valentine’s date. It’s the perfect way to sample a new stylist without the big monetary committment.
Some serious self-restraint was exercised today when I found out Mackage was having a pretty fab online sale. You see, even though I don’t often get a chance to wear them, coats are myabsolute weakness. If I lived on the East Coast it’s pretty safe to say, I’d have probably amassed quite the ridiculous collection by now.
But with 40% off at Mackage, I’m trying hard not to stock up already.
Yup, it’s definitely lust. Go ahead, stock up your closet and enjoy the sale!
It’s cold. It’s rainy. So let’s take a sec and talk about Uggs and set some ground rules.
1. They are prolly never going to go away. Let’s accept that, take a deep breath and move on.
2. It’s because they’re comfortable and practical as hell.
3. The reason they’re actually so “awful” isn’t when someone puts them on over jeans to run to the grocery store everyday it’s when you see her:
Rockin them with a jean skirt at the mall thinking it’s fashionable. Because, well, there’s so many things wrong with a jean skirt, where to start?? They may even be worse than Uggs.
Unless it’s Stella McCartney, usually when the term “eco-friendly” pops up it involves overpriced plain tanks and tees in organic cotton. This new spring line, “The Garden Collection” from H&M set to debut in March, however, is surprisingly trendy. As in, I’d buy it if it wasn’t eco-friendly anyway.
Like that watercolor floral-print dress above? I’m totally coveting.
It’s Sunday. I’m working, with about 100 million projects at bay for the week but as my wandering mind would have it I’m immersed in some cyberspace style spying.
Today, I’m crushing on style blogger Andy from http://www.stylescrapbook.com. There’s something about European women that is oh-so-chic. And even though she’s not technically European (she’s Mexican living abroad) it’s like that whole environment fosters a kind of fashion buzz that’s so not present here. I’d love to see more risks when I go out. And I don’t mean Emo-teens or those trying to Goth it up. I mean the layering and the tutus and mixed patterns and makeshift outfits that are oh-so-fun to lust after and even more fun to watch people’s reaction who just don’t “get” it.
But, back to Sunday. I have plenty of (other) things I should be writing right now.
Winter skin woes? Here’s a product I’d never thought I’d heart: Olay’s new Quench In-Shower Body Lotion. While there’s tons of beauty tricks to stave off dry skin (like say, not being in a steamy shower so long) one I never thought I’d be drawn to was an in-shower body lotion. Literally because the idea of putting on lotion and then rinsing it off just seemed like more body wash to me.
It’s not. For whatever reason, this ingenius extra step totally works. Use after cleansing with your regular moisturizing body wash and then rinse off. The product is activated by the heat in your shower and definitely helps dry skin woes. Plus, you can pick it up at your local drugstore. I love a great budget beauty buy.
