All you beautiful West Coast ladies are going to love this one: next Wednesday, June 23, participating Kerastase salons are offering complimnetary conditioning treatments and blowouts! The “Our Treat Day” campaign is happening all over the West Coast for just a suggested donation of $10, which benefits Locks of Love.

Luscious locks and a good cause? What’s not to love?!? I’ve already made my appointment, click here to make yours at a participating salon near you.
Does this come as a surprise? No, not really. Stylist Rachel Zoe has inked a deal with LF USA to release her own fashion collection as soon as fall 2011. WWD reports the collection will include clothing, accessories and shoes, too.

Like any fashionista with a line in the works, Zoe is quick to say “You will definitely see me in the clothes. Like, you will absolutely see my trademark pieces. I’ll definitely do faux furs and incredible leather jackets and great trousers. But I’m catering to a broader audience.”
What do you think? Are you excited for the Rachel Zoe collection? It might be time for us to bust our our “bananas” tees, oversize sunnies and drop 10 lbs. But hey, a little added glamour never hurt anyone. Especially from everyone’s favorite LA stylist.

Tell me, Rachel Zoe Collection: Excited or Snooze??
Oh, I couldn’t wait until this week’s How-to Tuesday post. After a few stops into some Old Town Scottsdale haunts this weekend, it’s pretty clear that Scottsdale could totally serve as the West Coast Jersey Shore. What’s up with all the blingtastic outfits, sky-high stilletos paired with barely-there skirts and plunging necklines? Gals, there’s a way to be chic, stylish and sexy that doesn’t include showing all the goods. Here’s a quick refresher on how to not dress like a streetwalker, while still having some sex appeal.
Lesson #1: This isn’t Vegas

I’m all for going all out; after all, it’s better to be over dressed than under dressed, right? The caveat there, dear friends, is that this isn’t Vegas. Leave the ice capade looking dresses, corsets and other sluttastic attire at home. A casual bar on a Friday night is so not the time to test out outfits best left as a Halloween costume.
Lesson #2: Pick a feature

Wanna show off your girls? Go for it. Want to throw on some supertall stilettos and a mini to show off legs that go on for days? Sexy. Got a snazzy backless top or dress? Totally hot. All at once? Don’t even think about it. Pick ONE asset to bare and let all the attention fall there. After all, that much skin will leave everyone confused as to where to even look.
Lesson #3: Forget the number

The human obsession with numbers just has to stop. Sometimes a size 2 in one brand is a size 6 in another so please, forget what’s on the label and pick your actual size. Trying to squeeze into something that’s too small/too short/too tight is just going to draw unwanted attention.
Lesson #4: Ditch trends

This may sound like an oxymoron, coming from a fashion blogger, but fashion trends are not universally flattering on everyone. Pick what works for you, what’s comfortable and by all means, age-appropriate. (Though that may be an entirely separate battle/post. Cougar fashion, anyone?)
