I’ve never been stellar at talking about myself. It’s quite awkward, after all.

This is the page where I’m supposed to name drop. Tell you all about my life as a style and beauty editor; how my writing has appeared in publications like Arizona Bride, Everyday with Rachel Ray, The Fashion Spot, SheKnows, etc.

Then I list things like on-air TV experience as a style expert. How New York Fashion Week was a blast. And that interviews with hot commodities in the industry like Christian Louboutin and Laura Mercier were unforgettable.

But while it may or may not lend any credibility, it’s awkward because to me, it has nothing to do with how and why this blog was born.

Just like any fashionista, I worship fashion magazines. But the media industry is so ahead of the curve that when I pick up my thick-as-a-brick won’t-even-fit-on-the-treadmill beautiful Vogue, the contents are often irrelevant.

While I love the September issues, I’m paging through them in a tank top in triple-digit weather, staring at a model draped in a coat, hat and gloves.

StyleSizzle is for the fashion, style and beauty-obsessed gal living on the West Coast. Because here, us desert dwellers have a bit of a different time table than the rest of the fashion industry. And our needs are different too. I won’t post about fur when it’s 100 degrees outside and I’ll never tell you to wear thick winter coats that we just don’t need.

I will, however, tell you fashion and beauty news that’s relevant now! To bring you style tips, inspiration and the fashion finds we need, even though it’s 110 degrees out and all you’d like to wear is shorts and a tank.

I’ll tell you how to wear the latest fashion trends and what to wear to many of the Valley’s great events. And I’ll give you honest reviews of local boutiques and beauty products galore.

While it may not seem like it I promise, you can be stylish, even in the desert!

After all, just because it’s sizzling hot out, doesn’t mean your style shouldn’t be.
