Bottega Veneta strappy sandals,$790. Wayne colbat blue dress, $485. Michael Kors Gia Ostrich satchel, $895. Splendid neon yellow racerback tank,$95. Nars lipstick, $24.
After all the nude we’ve seen the past few seasons, a bit of color is definitely refreshing. And this spring 2012, the color splash is coming in with a bang. Though I’m personally not nuts for neon, there are some pieces that are fun and fresh to update your wardrobe. After all, who am I to say no to those peppy and fabulous Bottega Veneta strappy sandals? Definitely not me.
Are you feeling the neon trend for this spring?

Without a doubt, the Scottsdale Culinary Festival is easily one of my favorite events of the year. There’s literally something for everyone.
Winos and foodies can enjoy a week-long schedule of amazing events; families get together to enjoy the afternoon sun during the weekend’s Great Arizona Picnic; and the young and the beautiful come out to play at Eat, Drink & Be Pretty Friday night.
While it’s hard not to love any outdoor food and booze fest in the Valley, one of my other favorite parts about this event is the people watching. Specifically: The clothes. And while I’ve written this post in the past, there’s always a slew of fashion faux pas at the culinary festival to gawk it!
So in case you’re new to the event, need a refresher, or just want some new tips on what’s hot in fashion this season, read on for your ultimate guide on what to wear to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival.
1. Don’t be a stiletto slut. There’s grass. You’re outside. Relax! Try some pretty summer sandals or some nice wedges.
2. Boot the boots. Sorry, fall is over. I’m upset about it too. Trust.
3. Easy on the sparkle. It’s daytime, after all.
4. Think twice about white. Do you sweat easily? Drink red wine? Trust the people around you to not spill something all over you? You get the idea…
5. Don’t forget your shades!
Now that you’ve got your five major Scottsdale Culinary Festival Fashion Don’ts covered, here are some stylish outfit ideas:

If there’s one fashion trend that’s caught me a bit by surprise this summer, it’s the jean shorts+boots look. I’ll admit, I think it’s pretty cute. Definitely a very West Coast look. But the one caveat to this: you really shouldn’t be rockin it if it’s over 100 degrees out.
It’s one thing to be into fashion, it’s another to just look like you’re insane. I saw one of these such “insane” fashionistas the other day in Arizona, running around in jean shorts, boots and….TIGHTS!
I believe it was well over 100 degrees that day. Her outfit was a definite “don’t.” But once the temps start to dip into the 80′s, or if you’re fortunate enough to live further West where the weather already is, jean shorts and a pair of cute boots are a nice way to transition into fall.
Plenty of celebs in L.A. have been seen rocking the look from Vanessa Hudgens (above) to Audrina Patridge (left) and Taylor Momsen (below) too.
If you’re anything like me you’ve probably gotten so excited about Fall Fashion that you’ve bought some boots already. Well, luckily, here’s a great way to get some use out of them now.
